For T,C&A Lab, Alfa Chemistry’s testing branch, the mission to help customers solve their varied testing needs remains unchanged no matter how things might get different. Very recently the lab announces to have completed upgrading of its thermal insulation materials testing service, which is purposed to deliver valuable insight into varieties of thermal insulation materials such as fiber, foam, expanded or extruded polystyrene.

Considering the common use in many fields, especially in large-scale engineering projects, thermal insulation materials should be stable and reliable in quality. Therefore, the analysis and testing of thermal insulation materials from a professional and scientific perspective plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity of project equipment or components.

“Many factors can affect the performance of thermal insulation materials throughout their lifetime. Our professional lab testing service is right in place to help determine whether these thermal insulation materials can fulfill their performance expectations within a time constraint,” says a senior scientist from T,C&A Lab.

The insulation materials that T,C&A Lab can test include:

To test the thermal conductivity and many other properties of thermal insulation materials, a number of equipment and instrument are used, including Heat Flow Meters, ISMA, Large Scale Furnaces and more. Though performance testing is the main purpose, researchers at T,C&A Lab also help to obtain environmental certification and product certification for clients.

The whole testing process is conducted under the guidance of various regulations, such as ASTM C516 - 19: Vermiculite Loose Fill Thermal Insulation, ASTM C549 - 18: Perlite Loose Fill Insulation, ASTM C553 - 13(2019): Mineral Fiber Blanket Thermal Insulation, ASTM C592 - 16: Mineral Fiber Blanket Insulation and Blanket-Type Pipe Insulation (Metal-Mesh Covered) (Industrial Type), ASTM C739 - 21: Cellulosic Fiber Loose-Fill Thermal Insulation, ASTM C163 - 05(2016): Mixing Thermal Insulating Cement Samples, ASTM C390 - 08(2019): Sampling and Acceptance of Thermal Insulation Lots, etc.

Water Leakage Hazards of Medium Frequency Induction Furnace

The convenience, speed, energy saving and environmental protection of the medium frequency induction furnace make it more and more widely used. The applications are not only for forging heating, casting and melting, but also for round steel heating, quenching and tempering, and round steel rolling. The application is also increasing year by year. The popularization and application of the mechanical thermal processing industry will inevitably bring about the maintenance of the medium frequency induction furnace....

Sustainable Carbon Black from TPO

In late November, the Blackcycle project held an event at the Michelin technology centre in Ladoux, France. The aim of the workshop was to discuss where the Blackcycle project stood in the aims for a circular economy. Blackcycle said that it had produced the world’s first sustainable carbon blacks (sCB) for tyre use, in a carbon black furnace reactor using oils derived from an end-of-life tyre pyrolysis process. Find out the full Blackcycle story on Tyre & Rubber Recycling here.

What is Investment Casting and How Does It Work?

Design requirements, cost, and feasibility to manufacture, dictate which metalworking processes (including which casting processes) are most suitable when choosing how to manufacture a product. This article describing investment casting is designed to assist you in making an informed manufacturing process decision. Investment casting employs techniques that produce precision engineered components that minimize material waste, energy, and subsequent machining. No other casting method, perhaps other than die...

Pyrolysis Plants Can Reduce Environmental Concerns Caused by Waste Tyres

Our prime consumption of vehicles for transportation requires using rubber tyres which get worn out after a time, and really need to be disposed of. Earlier these were just discarded in landfills and greatly led to environmental degradation. Technologies have found a remedy of making use of pyrolysis to process the waste tyres and convert them into useful byproducts. Get the MSW pyrolysis plant.A tyre pyrolysis plant consists of a reactor when the waste tires are gently heated by making use of fuel like coal,...

What are Tire Pyrolysis Plant Costs

Are you trying to find tire recycling plant costs? Then, you have come on the right place. There are actually over one billion passenger vehicles on your way today. In reality, over 300 million tires are discarded each and every year in the United States alone. Just think the number of tires that are disposed of across the world! Where do you consider these tires turn out? In fact, waste tires take up most of the space in landfills around the globe. Take the tyre pyrolysis plant price now. The round and hollow...
